Air Based
(MJCA)

Description of the Product:

MJCA has extended the cooling capability of air. Using ambient air reduces the complexity and cost of the system, while increasing its reliability. When air is used it impinges directly on the heat source, removing the thermal interface. This also eliminates issues related to bonding the cold plate or heat sink to the chip, which may have different thermal expansion coefficients.

Performance

The typical performance of the air based MJCA is shown in the graph below. The graph shows that it is capable of achieving high heat transfer, and while the pressure drop of the system is strongly dependant on the duct work, pressure drop through the MJCA is typically minimal.

Pressure drop is strongly influenced by
duct work, but is typically very low.
